LUBRICANT

 LUBRICANT
@ Friction :-
       every material in a universe have contact with other material by three type of contact like
- surface 2 surface
- surface 2 point
- point to point
    this contact between them is  readily or smooth , due to irregularity in their surfaces , which creates friction results in great damage of material to overcome this problem lubricants are used , some effect of friction are creating heat or fire, interlocking of surfaces, cutting of material etc
@ Lubricants :-
       are the substances which reduces moving and sliding friction between surfaces
# Function :-
- it reduces deforamtion of material on rubbing
- Smooth fucntioning of machine
- reduce wear and tear friction
_ Avoid seizure of moving surfaces
- Reduce maintainace cost of machine
_ Redce heat or warming of metal during friction
@ Type of lubricants ;-
          i) Hydraulic lubrication :-
                      this type of lubricants used in hydraulic system or in piston system ,where one surface directly contact with fast moving surface , this lubricant used between these two surfaces to reduce friction, and increase piston effeciency toward work
         ii) Boundary lubrication :-
                    these lubrication used in ball bearing system where lubrication prevent friction between metal to metal surfaces
          iii) Extreme pressue lubricants :-
                       this type of lubricants are used in extreme high pressure condition , where all the normal lubricant vapourized , another challenge for this luricants to stick on the surface where they applied at any cost
@ Classification of lubrication :-
          On The Basis OF Physical state :-
i) Liquid lubricants :-
          lubricant in form liquid, these benefit is that it can easy spread on surface where they can applied , mostly used form of lubricant ,
-they have low freezing point, good heat stability, anti corrosion properties etc
- they used act as sealing agent, corroision preventor and etc
- they may be petroleum oil, vegetable oil,blended oil etc
EX:- mobiloil in motor cars
ii) Semi-Solid Lubricants :-
           are the greases type lubricants which are used to lubricant those surfaces which are on heavy work load work, these type of lubricants made by saponification of fat with alkali , unlike liquid lubricants they can not spread on surface so it have to spread by some mechanics support , they have better properties of binding to surface than previous liquid even in extreme condition , these are following type like calcium based grease, soda base grease, lithium based grease etc
iii) Solid lubricants :-
             are typically solid lubricants , which used to reduce friction. one of the best solid lubricants are graphite which consists multiple flat plates which are loosely bonded  and another is Molybdenum disulphide in which having two layer between S atom layer
@ Synthetic lubricants :-
       these are those lubricants which are synthetically prepared from naturally ocuured raw material , these have some special feature like as low freezing point, high viscosity and some time non inflammable, there are some types are
- Polymerized hydrocarbon
- Polyglycols
- Organic amine
_ Silicons :-
          non oxidised synthetic lubricants, mainly used for low temperation operation
@ Selection of lubricants :-
         selection of lubricants is very important , because every lubricants have their particular use in particular place , so selection is very important to ensure quality anf maintainance for a device , bases of lubricants based on various categories are
- Lubricating for condition tools :-
              lubrication used for that machine which are daily work on cutting ,tearing process, these lubricants mainly focus on better performance during all work load , cutting of these machinery may be heavy or light depending upon fot that reason for whom they are made , effective lubricant are those in these are whom have capability of keep cool the machine on work time, reduce power consumption or increase machine effecienty, reduce surface resistance as low as posiible
_ lubrication for engine :-
          in engine extremely high temp mainly occured so lubricating material must have to stick and lubricate that surface at the time when engine work for this lubricants must have high viscosity index
_ LUbricants for delicate machine ;-
          machine like shearing machine must have all moving part working all time so lubricants must have do their job in all moving parts during process and work better on all time
_ Lubricants for extreme condition machine :-
                          some of biggest work loading machine have an their own lubricants for even better and smooth functioning , normal lubricant replace here because they are failed here to lubricate surface , this lubricants mainly have graphite or Mo mixed for better performance
_ lubricants for spindl machine ;-
             in spindle machine each part work in very high speed so less viscous lubricants used to carry out this operation
@ Cutting Fluid :-
        lubricants used to cool down and lubricates surfaces where they are used
@ Propeties of lubricants ;-
              there are certain criteria to determine a  lubricantes are
* Viscosity :-
        less is the viscous lesser is the power to attain surface for last time , so viscousity matter lubricants to lubricants accordingly machine to machine
* Oiliness :-
          oiliness mean stickiness , more the oiliness more the stickiness of lubricant on surface so this oiliness also matter
* Emulsification :-
         attaining dust paticle out the surface and make surface dust free for better lubricant and functioning
* Decomposition stability ;-
                 lubricanting oil must be stable to decomposition at operating temperature
* Mechanical and corrosion stability :-
          lubricant must have great property of anti corrosion and mechanical stability for better performance
