Communicable & Non-Communicable disease

Communicable & Non-Communicable disease :-

Disease is defined as a condition of the body or a part of it in which functions are disturbed or deranged
Disease can be broadly divided into three major types :-
1.     Communicable
2.     Non-communicable
3.      Genetic disorders

Communicable Disease :-

a.     Disease caused by Bacteria :-

i.)                 Scarlet fever Caused by Streptococcus pyogenes
ii.)               Gonorrhoea Caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae
iii.)             Meningitis Caused by Neisseria meningitides
iv.)            Anthrax Caused by Bacillus anthracis
v.)              Tetanus Caused by Clostridium tetani
vi.)            Btulism Caused by Clostridium botulinum
vii.)          Gas gangrene Caused by Clostridium perigens
viii.)        Typhoid fever Caused by Salmonella typhi
ix.)             Cholera Caused by Vibrio cholerae
x.)               Bubonic Plaque Caused by Yersinia pestis
xi.)             Whooping Cough Caused by Bordetella pertussis
xii.)           Diphtheria Caused by Corynebacterium diphtheria
xiii.)         Tuberculosis Caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis
xiv.)        Leprosy Caused by Mycobacterium leprae
xv.)          Syphilis Caused by Treponema pallidum
xvi.)        Pneumonia Caused by Streptococcus pneumonia
xvii.)      Bacterial dysentery Caused by Shigella sonnei
xviii.)    Typhus fever Caused by Rickettsia prowazekii
xix.)         Q Fever Caused by Coxiella burnetii
xx.)           Trench fever Caused by Rochalimaea quintana
xxi.)         Trachoma Caused by Chlamydia trachomatis
xxii.)       Rocky mountain spooted fever Caused by Rickettsia rickettsii

1.     Chicken Pox caused group of Herpesvirus
2.     Poliomyelitis caused group of Picovirus
3.     Common cold caused group of Rhinovirus
4.     Influenza caused group of Orthomyxovirus
5.     Rabies caused group of Rhabdovirus
6.     Mumps caused group of Paramyxovirus
7.     Measles caused group of Paramyxovirus
8.     Dengue fever caused group of Flavivirus
9.     Yellow fever  caused group of Arbovirus
10.                AIDS caused group of Retrovirus

c.      Disease Caused by Protozoan’s

i.                    Amoebiasis caused pathogen is Entamoeba histolytica
ii.                  Giardiasis caused pathogen is Giardia lamblia
iii.                Trichomoniasis caused pathogen is Trichomonas
iv.               Sleeping sickness caused pathogen is Trypanosoma
v.                 Kala-azar caused pathogen is Leishmania
vi.               Balantidiosis caused pathogen is Balantidium coli
vii.             Malaria caused pathogen is Plasmodium

d.     Disease Caused by Helmenthes

1.     Bilharzia caused pathogen is Schistosoma
2.     Taeniasis caused pathogen is Taenia solium
3.     Ascariasis caused pathogen is Ascaris
4.     Ancylostomiasis caused pathogen is Ancyclostoma
5.     Elephantiasis caused pathogen is Filaria
6.     Trichinosis caused pathogen is Trichinella
7.     Guineaworm Disease caused pathogen is Dracunculus
8.     Eyeworm disease caused pathogen is Loa loa

e.     Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD):-
Bacterial

i.                    Syphilis their pathogen is Treponema palladium
ii.                  Gonorrhoea their pathogen is Neisseria gonorehoeae
iii.                Chancroid their pathogen is Haemophilus ducreyi
iv.               Vaginitis their pathogen is Gardnerella vaginalis
Viral :-
v.                 Herpes genitalis their pathogen is HSV-2 (DNA) virus
vi.               Condyloma acuminatum their pathogen is Papova (DNA) virus
vii.             Molluscum contagiosum their pathogen is Pox (DNA) virus
Protozoal
viii.           Trichomoniasis their pathogen is Trichomonas vaginalis  

Non –Communicale Disease :-

1.     Diabetes mellitus = Excessive Concentration of glucose in blood
2.     Arthritis = Inflammation of joints
3.     Gout = Accumulation of uric acid in synovial joints
4.     Cardiovascular disease = Diseases associated with blood vascular system

5.     Cancer = Uncontrolled growth of division of cells,
