WELDING TECHNOLOGY :-
@ Welding process :-
welding is the process of joining two similar or disimilar metal by fusion with or with or without the application of pressure and with or without the use of filler metal . the fusion of metal take place by means of heat . the heat may is obtain from gas fibre el;ectric are and by chemical reaction
@ Welding Position ;-
i) Flat position :-
in this welding position the workpiece lies flat , the axis of the weld remains horizontal the filler metal is deposited from the upper side of joint with the face of the weld horizontal
ii) Horizontal position :-
in horizontal position of welding the relative posiotion of two work piece differ depending upon wheather it is groove or filler weld . In groove weld the two work piece tack one over the other with their flat faces in vertical plain and after taking welding is performed to right to left hand side. in case if filler weld the two work piece are placed at right angle to each other and welding is performed to right to left hand side
iii) Verticel position :-
in this position of welding the axis of weld remain vertical and the welding starts from bottom towards upward
iv ) over head position :-
it is the most difficult position and require high degree of skill on the part of the welder . in the welding position welding is performed to the under side of the joint and the work piece remains over the head of the welder
@ Welding technique :-
i) Leftward welding :-
it is alkso known as forward welding. in this the filler rod is held left hand and the welsing torch in right hand . the welder starts welding at the right hand end of the joint and proceeds towards the left
ii) Rightward welding :-
it is also known as backward welding in this welding. the welding torch is held in the right hand and filler rod is held in the lift hand the welding starts at left hand side and proceed towards the right
